5 Maintenance Repairs to Learn:
- How to check the oil - Ladies take the
time to pop your hood and learn how to check your
oil. If it's low, you may need to add some oil.
Use your car manual to find out what type of oil
your car takes and keep a few bottles in the trunk.
- How to check the tire, proper tire pressure,
and tire wear -You can quickly check tires
by doing a simple walk around when you visit the
gas station. Check to see if the tires look low.
If you don't know how to check the tire pressure
and add air, ask a technician, but stay around
and watch in case you have to do it one day yourself.
- How to change the tire - A flat tire
is the absolute worst thing, especially since
it's usually unexpected. Do yourself a favor and
learn how (in a pinch) to change the tire. Even
if you have road service, it can often take 30
- 45 minutes for them to arrive and you never
know when the next good samaritan or The
Tire Changing Man will show up.
- Battery corrosion
- What your indicator lights and guages mean
- When you purchase your car, take the time
to ask the sales person to review this information
with you, then take some time and study your car
manual, it's an excellent way to get to know your
car and what it needs.

The Tire Changing
Man
About 8 a.m. this morning I heard a car door. I looked
outside and noticed a small red car and a black car
on
the side of the street. As I followed the scenario from
my office window, the hero emerged --- The Tire Changing
Man! There he was in his gear; ready and able to rescue
the two females that sat, patiently, as he sprang into
action. Just about 10 minutes later it was over. He
was
done, the women seemed content and as they turned around
in my driveway, I wondered . . . Where had he come from?
How long did it take him to get there? What other
tire changing emergencies would he face today?
